Sting ha presentato un nuovo singolo, 50,000, ispirata dalle recenti morti di leggende della musica come David Bowie, Prince, Lemmy and Glenn Frey. La traccia fa parte del prossimo album di Prince 57th and 9th, il suo primo album “rock” da Sacred Love del 2003.
Nel pezzo, Sting riflette su cosa significa essere una rock star che invecchia e guarda i suoi colleghi morire: “Another of our comrades were taken down” and “You sing his songs in some sad tribute.” canta Sting, che nel ritornello aggiunge, “50,000 voices rising every time he sings / Rock stars don’t ever die / They only fade away.”
L’album 57th and 9th uscirà l’11 novembre 2016.
